Conversion Actions: Links, Payments, Bookings & Surveys

Send tracked links, Stripe payments, Calendly bookings, and surveys from your Inrō scenarios, and branch on what the contact does.

Conversion actions ask the contact to do something: click a link, pay, book a meeting, or answer a survey. Each one tracks what the contact does and branches your flow based on the result. You'll find them in the Conversions section of the step picker.

Conversion link

Sends a tappable link card with a title, description, image, and button. Every click is tracked and counted as a conversion.

Set the URL, title, description, button text, and an optional image. If you leave the title, description, or image blank, Inrō can auto-fill them from the page you're linking to. There's also an On click, add to folder option so clickers get tagged automatically.

The action branches three ways:

  • When the link is clicked fires the moment the contact taps the button. Put your post-click follow-up here. This still fires even if the contact clicks after the timeout.

  • If the link hasn't been clicked after a set time, the expiration branch fires. Put a gentle nudge here to lift your click rate.

  • Continue runs right after the link is sent, regardless of whether the contact clicks. Use it for steps that should always happen next, like a follow-up message or tagging the contact.

Payment link

Sends a Stripe payment card so the contact can pay directly in the DM, without leaving Instagram.

Pick the amount to charge. The card appears in the DM and the contact pays in a few taps.

⚠️ This is a Pro feature and stays greyed out until you connect Stripe. For connecting your account and how payments, fees, and receipts work, see Stripe: Connect Your Account to Accept Payments in DMs.

Calendly booking link

Sends a Calendly booking card so the contact can schedule a meeting from the DM. Pick from your Calendly event types; Inrō shows each event's name, description, and link.

The action branches two ways:

  • When the booking is confirmed, the flow continues down this branch. Add a confirmation message or a folder tag here.

  • If no booking is made in time, the expiration branch fires.

⚠️ This is a Pro feature and needs Calendly connected. For setup, see Calendly: Send Booking Links to Your Contacts. Other booking and event actions live in Integration Actions: Calendly, Shopify, HTTP Requests & More.

Send a survey

Sends a survey the contact answers in the DM. There are two types: single question (one question with answer buttons) and multiple questions (a short form that opens in the in-app browser). For multiple-question surveys, answers can be saved to contact properties automatically.

The Send a survey node showing the survey picker and the 'When survey is filled' branch.

Pick a survey you've already built under Automation -> Surveys. The picker shows each survey's title, type, and how many times it's been sent and completed. The action branches two ways:

  • When the survey is filled, the flow continues down this branch.

  • If the survey hasn't been filled in time, the expiration branch fires.

⚠️ The AI Agent can't read the raw survey responses, so a later handover can't reference what the contact answered directly. The workaround: save answers to contact properties (multiple-question surveys can map each answer to a property), since the agent can read contact properties.

🐾 Netsuke's Tips

  • The follow-up in the "not clicked" branch doesn't have to be a hard sell. "Did you get a chance to check it out?" often beats a second pitch.

  • Keep timeout branches short, around 12 to 24 hours. Instagram's 24-hour window means a contact who's gone quiet may never receive a message scheduled days later.

  • For payment links, add a short Wait (30 to 60 seconds) before the ask. An instant payment request right after a message can feel abrupt.

  • Survey completion drops sharply after four or five questions. Use a single-question survey to qualify first, then ask for more once the contact is engaged.
