Welcome to Inrō: What You Can Do

See what Inrō does and where to start: an AI agent that answers DMs, scenarios that react to your audience, and campaigns you send.

Welcome to Inrō. In plain terms, Inrō helps you turn your Instagram conversations into customers, automatically. You connect your Instagram account once, and from then on Inrō can answer DMs in your voice, react to comments and story replies, and message your contacts for you.

There are three ways Inrō does the work, and they're strongest when you use them together.

Your AI Agent: answer DMs around the clock

Your AI Agent is the quickest way to put Inrō to work. It reads each incoming DM, works out what the person wants, and replies in your voice using the knowledge you give it: your FAQs, pricing, and product info. It can answer questions, qualify leads, share a link, add someone to a folder, and hand the conversation to you when a real person is needed.

You stay in control of when it speaks. The agent has four activation modes:

  • All pending messages: it replies to every DM an automation hasn't already handled.

  • Specific intents only: it replies only when a message matches a topic you pick, like "asks about pricing."

  • Automation only: it replies only when one of your scenarios hands a conversation to it.

  • Disable all replies: it stays silent, so you can pause it without losing your setup.

To see how each mode behaves and how to limit the agent to certain contacts, see Activation Rules: Controlling When Your AI Agent Replies. When you're ready to build yours, follow Quick Start: Setup Your AI Agent.

Scenarios: react to your audience automatically

A scenario is an automated flow that runs when someone does something on Instagram: comments on a post, replies to a story, clicks a link into your DMs, or sends you a message. You define what happens next.

Scenarios are reactive. They run when your audience acts. A few common examples:

  • Someone comments a keyword on your post and gets a freebie sent to their DMs.

  • A viewer replies to your story and receives a relevant offer.

  • Someone clicks a referral link and gets a personalised welcome.

Campaigns: reach your contacts on your schedule

A campaign is a DM you send to a chosen group of your contacts. You pick the audience, write the message (or a multi-step sequence), and decide when it goes out.

Campaigns are proactive. You start the conversation, rather than waiting for one. Use them for announcements, offers, or re-engaging quiet contacts. Get going with Quick Start: Your First DM Campaign.

Which one should you start with?

Pick based on your goal right now:

  • "I want to answer questions and qualify leads without being on my phone all day": start with the AI Agent.

  • "I want to turn comments and story replies into leads automatically": start with Scenarios.

  • "I want to message my existing contacts with an offer or announcement": start with Campaigns.

Most people end up using all three. Picking one and getting a result first is the fastest way to learn how to combine them.

Your inbox

Before you build anything, take a look at your inbox. It's where your Instagram DMs, comments, and story replies land in one place, and where you watch what your automations and AI Agent are doing in real time. See The Unified Inbox: Overview and Navigation for a tour.

A good first habit: send a DM to your own connected account from another phone or account, and watch the reply land in your inbox. It's the quickest way to see a scenario or your agent working live.

🐾 Netsuke's Tips

  • Don't try to build everything at once. Pick one goal (more leads, more sales, fewer hours in your DMs) and set up one thing around it. Get a result, then expand.

  • Folders are your quiet workhorse. They group contacts into segments you can target with campaigns and use as conditions in scenarios. Set up a few early.

  • Your AI Agent and your scenarios cooperate: if a scenario already replied to a message, the agent stays quiet. Keep that priority in mind when something seems unexpectedly silent.
