How to Fix the Authorization Missing Error

The Authorization Missing error means Inrō lost its connection to Instagram. Here's how to reconnect and refresh your Meta permissions.

The "Authorization Missing" error means Inrō has lost its connection to your Instagram account. Your messages stop sending and your automations stop running until you reconnect. On Meta's side, the same problem sometimes appears as an "Error validating access token" message.

What causes it

  • You changed your Facebook or Instagram password.

  • Someone else who manages your Facebook Page changed their own password.

  • You removed Inrō's access in your Facebook settings.

  • You connected another external app to your Facebook Page.

  • Your Facebook login session expired.

  • A Meta platform issue interrupted the connection.

Reconnect your Instagram account

This is the fix for almost every case of this error.

  1. Go to Accounts → Instagram account.

  2. Click the refresh icon next to your account.

  3. Log in with Facebook when prompted.

  4. Accept every permission on the screens that follow.

Once reconnected, check your inbox to confirm messages are flowing again.

Make sure you accepted every permission

If the error comes back after reconnecting, you may have skipped a permission during the login flow. Go through it again and leave everything checked. Inrō needs access to your messages, comments, and profile.

Check that Inrō still has access on Facebook

  1. Open Facebook and go to Settings → Security and login → Business integrations (the exact path varies by device, so also look for "Apps and Websites").

  2. Find Inrō in the list.

  3. If it's missing or was removed, return to Inrō and reconnect from Accounts → Instagram account.

Facebook Business Integrations settings with Inrō listed

If reconnecting alone doesn't hold, do a full reset: remove Inrō from this list, then reconnect from Accounts → Instagram account and accept every permission. This clears the stale access grant and starts a clean one.

⚠️ If the issue persists

If a full remove-and-reconnect still fails, Meta may need a little time to lift a security hold. Wait a few hours, then run the reconnect once more from a desktop browser in a private window.

Reach out to our support team with a screenshot of the error. If reconnecting keeps failing, the Missing Permissions guide and the main connection guide cover the deeper checks.
