How to Deactivate or Delete Your Account

Learn how to pause your Inrō account by canceling, or permanently delete it, what happens to your data, and what to consider first.

If you need to step away from Inrō, you have two options: cancel your subscription (which keeps your account and data) or permanently delete your account (which removes everything). Here's how each one works.

Option 1: Cancel your subscription

Canceling means you stop being charged, but your account, contacts, scenarios, and data all stay in Inrō. You move to the Free plan at the end of your billing period.

To cancel:

  1. Go to Profile → Subscription & add-ons.

  2. Click Manage plan.

  3. In the Stripe billing portal, cancel the subscription.

Your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period. After that you're on the Free plan, with its 100 activated contacts per period. This is the right choice if you might come back, or want to pause your costs for now. See Subscription & Plans for what the Free plan includes.

Option 2: Delete your account permanently

Deleting your account removes everything. Before you do, it's worth exporting anything you want to keep: open Contacts, select the contacts you need, and export them to a spreadsheet (up to 1,000 contacts). Once your account is gone, there's no way to recover that data.

To delete your account:

  1. Go to Profile → My account.

  2. Scroll to the bottom and click Delete account.

  3. Confirm when prompted.

You have 24 hours to change your mind

Deletion isn't instant. When you confirm, Inrō schedules your account to be deleted in 24 hours and shows a notice telling you the exact time. During that window you can return to Profile → My account and click Cancel account deletion to stop it.

⚠️ After 24 hours, the deletion is permanent. All your data is removed and you won't be able to log in anymore. Your conversations on Instagram itself are not affected.

What happens after deletion

  • Your Inrō organization is removed, including all contacts, scenarios, campaigns, and settings.

  • Your Instagram account is disconnected from Inrō. Your Instagram account itself is untouched.

  • Any active subscription is canceled. If you're mid-cycle, there's no refund for unused time.

  • You can create a new Inrō account with the same email later, but it starts fresh with no data.

Deleting one organization vs. your whole account

If you manage several Instagram accounts, each is a separate organization. Deleting your account closes your login. Deleting a single organization removes only that workspace, and you can do it only if you're its owner and you belong to more than one organization. Make sure you're in the right organization before you delete it.

🐾 Netsuke's Tips

  • If you're leaving because something isn't working, reach out to support first. Most issues have a quick fix, and canceling keeps your data in case you come back.

  • Export your contacts before deleting if you want them for an email list or CRM. After deletion there's no recovery.

  • Canceling your subscription and deleting your account are different. Canceling keeps everything on the Free plan; deleting wipes it after the 24-hour window.
