How to use Inrō scenarios?

Create and manage automated scenarios in Inrō: trigger events, define actions, and monitor performance to engage your audience effectively

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Introduction to Scenarios

Scenarios enable you to automate interactions with your audience based on specific triggers (e.g., receiving a DM, someone mentioning you in a story). They help you maintain consistent engagement, drive conversions, and save time by running automatically in the background.

Scenario Value Proposition

Scenarios Dashboard

The Scenarios Dashboard provides an overview of your automation workflows:

  • See each scenario’s status (active, inactive, draft).

  • Review execution metrics (how many times each scenario has run).

  • Check conversion rates (the percentage of triggered events that lead to a desired action).

This high-level view makes it easy to identify which automations are performing well and which might need adjustments.

Creating a New Scenario

  1. Start a Scenario

    • Click Create New Scenario from the dashboard.

    • Choose from available templates (e.g., Exclusive VIP List, Instagram Ad Leads, Auto-Reply) or start from scratch.

  2. Name & Configure

    • Give your scenario a clear, descriptive name.

    • If using a template, review and tweak the preset triggers and actions to fit your needs.

Designing Your Scenario

  1. Choose a Trigger

    • A trigger is the event that starts your automation (e.g., someone sends a DM, mentions you in a story, a contact is added to a folder, or a webhook is called).

  2. Add Actions & Steps

    • Actions define what happens after the trigger (e.g., sending a message, sharing a post/reel, sending an audio message, sending HTTP requests, or even AI actions)

    • To control the flow of the scenario, you can use conditions and logic such as time delays, waiting for replies, and scenario conditions.

Saving, Testing and Activating Your Scenario

  • Save Scenario: When you are done building your scenario, you can save the changes to secure your progress.

  • Test Scenario: After saving your scenario, you can run a quick test to see how it behaves - you can select a specific contact you want to run the test on.

  • Activate: Switch the scenario to “Active” when you want it to start running automatically using the Status Button or when the start scenario prompt pops up.

  • Edit, Pause, Duplicate, or Delete: You can modify, duplicate, or delete the scenario from the dashboard at any time. You can even pause it by turning it off from the Status option.

Viewing Insights & History

After your scenario runs, you can analyze its performance:

  1. Insights (Funnel View)

Shows how many contacts entered the scenario, progressed through each step, and converted. This helps you spot drop-off points and refine your workflow.

  2. History (Detailed View)

Lists each contact who triggered the scenario and the steps they went through.

It also lets you jump directly to any conversation to see how interactions played out.

Opt-Out Detection

Inrō’s updated scenarios now include Opt-Out Detection:

  • This feature automatically monitors for opt-out requests within conversations.

  • When a user indicates they no longer wish to receive messages, the system flags the request and stops further automated engagement.

  • This ensures compliance with user preferences and reduces the risk of unwanted follow-ups.

Inrō Insider Tips

  • Combine Multiple Triggers: Create separate branches triggered by different events to tailor responses for various user actions.

  • Use A/B Testing: Experiment with different messages or wait times within the same scenario to discover what resonates most.

  • Focus on Key Steps: Check the funnel view for high drop-off points and refine your messaging or incentives to keep contacts engaged.

  • Embrace Opt-Out Detection: Use the new opt-out detection feature to manage unsubscribes, automatically protecting your reputation and compliance.

  • Plan for Scale: As you grow more comfortable, experiment with conditional logic and multi-step flows to create richer, more personalized interactions.
