How to connect a Shopify store

Connect your Shopify store to Inrō via the Shopify App Store or manually with an API token.

Option 1 — Install from the Shopify App Store (recommended)

⚠️ Our Shopify App Store is currently under review. You can use Option 2 to install the app in the meantime.

The easiest way to connect your Shopify store is directly from the Shopify App Store.

Find the Inrō app in the Shopify App Store and click Install. You will be guided through a short setup flow:

  1. If you are not signed in to Inrō yet, you will be asked to log in or create an account.

  2. If you have several Inrō accounts (organisations), you will be asked to pick which one to connect to your store.

  3. Once authorised, you will be redirected to the Inrō dashboard embedded inside your Shopify Admin.

✅ That's it — no API token needed with this method.

Option 2 — Connect manually with an API token

If you prefer to connect without the App Store, you can use the manual API token method below.

Getting your API token

Create a custom app

You need to create a custom app in your Shopify admin so Inrō can read your products and orders.

Go to your Shopify admin. In the sidebar, click on Apps then App and sales channel settings. Then click on Develop apps and Create an app.

You can give a name to your app (like Inrō Shopify App) and select your own email for the developer then click on Create app.

Set up Admin API access

Once your custom app is created, you need to set up access to the Admin API. Click on Configure Admin API scope.

In the next screen, search and check the following scopes and click on Save:

  • read_products

  • write_products

  • read_orders

  • write_orders

  • read_customers

  • write_customers

  • read_themes

  • write_themes

  • read_script_tags

  • write_script_tags

If you omit one of these scopes, the integration will not work as intended. These scopes enable us to show you product catalog in Inrō and track conversions.

Generate your token

Once the scopes are saved, you can go to the API credentials tab and click on Install app.

Once the app is installed, you will be able to copy your API token. Save it somewhere safe as you will only be able to view it once!

You can now go back to Inrō to set up your access.

Connect Inrō to Shopify

In Inrō, go to your settings in the Integrations tab.

There, you can enter your Shopify store domain (the part that looks like mydomain.myshopify.com) and paste your API token from the previous step.

Once your save your details, you should see the name of your store, indicating that the connexion was a success.

You can now start sending Shopify links inside campaigns and automations!
